Welcome back! If you missed part 1 of this article where we dive into the fundamentals of quantum computing and key terms, be sure to check it out here. In part 2, we will explore the fascinating use cases of quantum computing, the thrilling potential benefits it brings to humans and its limitations. Get ready for an exciting journey into the future of quantum technology!
Countries around the world are already competing to be the leader in the Quantum enabled world. Exhibit-1 illustrates this with the amount of money they are spending.
Data on the Internet is protected using encryption, which scrambles it with two prime numbers of an RSA asymmetric encryption key, which is usually 1024 to 4096 bits large. Now imagine the two prime factors of such a large key (number) will be two extremely huge numbers, out of the reach of calculations for normal computer and even by supercomputer will take millions of years to find (break) those two prime factors of the key, just by guessing.
With the advancement of quantum computers, there may come a day when this encryption can easily be broken. Hence doing nothing is not an option. That is why countries are heavily investing in quantum technology, aiming to become the next economic and technological leaders as shown in…
